Search Engine Marketing – How to Do on Page Optimization

Search marketing is all about optimization of the right elements to get the highest possible amount of money into your pocket. Having a good ad position is a very important aspect and you can tweak a few variables to get there. Here is how you can get the optimum ad position.

Targeted Keywords

You must have heard people telling you that you need targeted keywords but what exact do they mean by that? In short, you pick only the targeted keywords which are relevant to your offers, products or services. This is applicable to both paid and organic search marketing.

Think about what is going through the minds of your potential web visitor. Are they looking to solve a problem or they simply want to scratch an itch? What are they looking for and are the words or phrases that they would type into the search engines.

Simply use Google keyword tool to find related keywords. Also make sure that your selected keywords have enough number of searches to make it worth your time and effort. If the search numbers are low, then you make it up by adding many more of such keywords.

Negative Keywords

Other than the keywords you are optimizing for or bidding on, you need to have a set of negative keywords. These set of keywords can help you filter out the visitors who are less likely to take make a purchase or take an action that you want them to take.

If you only sell a certain range of products, you might want to add the names of related products or services that you are not selling as your negative keywords. In this way, your ads will only show up for the products or services that you are offering.

After you run your campaigns for awhile, you would find that some keywords simply cannot make you profits no matter what you do to tweak them. Delete them off your campaigns then add them as negative keywords.

Others

Adding an XML site map can help with your optimization because it makes it easier for Google to index your pages. Add business links such as contact and privacy, this might seem like a small thing but it is still very important as it makes you appear more trustworthy
