If you are an internet marketer or online business owner you will know the benefits that come from ranking high on Google and other search engines. In order to do this you need to implement SEO which involves optimising your pages for keywords and building effective relevant links back to your pages.

If you know nothing about seearch engine optimisation then I recommend reading a good seo blog and practising your the techniques on a free blog before implementing them on your main site.

If you have had a site a while you may already rank on the first page of Google for some keywords, this article is going to teach you how to attract more clicks on those listings without actually increasing your ranking position.

Google analytics is the best place to begin, see which keywords are pushing traffic your way then check the ranking on those keywords. If you are in a mid page position you should look for another page on your site that is also relevant to the keyword you have selected. Link back to the new page from the indexed page using the keyword you are targeting, this will help create a double listing and make your site more attractive to searches.

Another very simple way of increasing the traffic you receive on a given keyword is by effectively optimising your meta descrition tag. Whe you use your keywords in the description tag your keywords will be bolded when anyone searches on them, this again makes your site stand out and become more attractive, therefore increasing the click through rate.

Implementing these two simple SEO strategies is a quick and easy way of increasing organic traffic to your site. Once you have implemented the above move onto link building and target new phrases inorder to increase traffic further.

When it comes to search engines they are really smart in many ways but the normal Joomla URL describes nothing about the web page and its contents and so they really do dislike it in many ways.It is what I call, Search Optimization Stunted (SOS). I like this term because it describes exactly what it needs; some help! This is where a SEF URL changing component comes into play. These types of components take the normal Joomla URL and change it into something more meaningful to both us and the search engines.

From my Web Design & Development experience this is the single most important component installation you can make on a Joomla Website.I want to detail my personal best picks. There are a few available to us but I believe the JoomSEF component to be the best of the best when it comes to Search Engine Friendly URL’s. There is only one drawback to choosing this component and that is a hidden advert in the code from the original makers. If you search on Google for "Joomsef patch" then you should be able to find a decent article on how to get around this problem. Looking at the “best of the rest” of the SEF components we find a new component (May 2007) called sh404SEF which is ad free, if you search on the Joomla extensions website you will find this one. I believe it to be strongly based on JoomSEF; in look, feel and functionality I have noticed this. Another SEF friendly component for Joomla is OpenSEF. When OpenSEF was released about a year ago it was great but since that time there has been no updates and the project has lagged way behind Joomla development. Having said though, it still does a reasonable job of converting Joomla URL's to search engine friendly but I found in my testing that it proved to be duplicating too many URL's.

Which ever one you choose, download the component and then using the Joomla Administration interface install the component. Then go to Site->Global Configuration->SEO (tab) and ensure search Engine Friendly URL’s” is set to yes. Ensure your htaccess.txt file in the root directory of the Joomla installation is changed to .htaccess and follow the directives in the file in how to turn on "mod_rewrite" - this is straight forward. Then just go to the JoomSEF component and configuration and turn it on. Once this is done you should be generating friendly URL’s on the front end interface so you should go and check. It's as easy as that!!

If you are interest in search engine optimization (SEO) then you are going to have to have a basic knowledge about the Google Sandbox. The following will give you the details about the sandbox, and how you can get away from it. For new website owners it’s very important, that you take every positive step you can, to get your page rankings up on the search engine lists. The closer to the top in rankings the more traffic is driven to your site. It can become disheartening when you feel you have done everything right and you are just not moving up in the ranks. Well the Google Sandbox could possibly be part of this failure.

Determining what the Google Sandbox Theory Is:

After a site being listed with SERPS for a couple of weeks, the pages were being ranked too low ,and in some cases they were being dropped from the index. At least this is what the webmasters were seeing. They were also noting that sites were not ranking very well for the keywords that were selected. Yet these sites were optimized and had a number of inbound links.

Finally the SEO experts were able to determine just what this sandbox issue was all about. This answered the question as to why the sites that were in the high paging ranking positions were dropping, but the websites that had been at the lower end of the scale were getting the chance to climb up to the near top, depending on their keywords.

So what is causing the Google Sandbox repercussions?

The webmasters determined that the google sandbox effects were only surfacing after a period of time had elapsed. Meaning that the website was actually ageing when this happened. This became very important knowledge to the webmasters. It almost seems like it is a penalty for the site being established, but really it is not that waythe.

It is believed that the sandbox effect can be prevented. This is done by the number and age of the inbound links as well as their quality. This is what the Link threshold theory implies.

Check to see in your website is Sand boxed

Check first to see if you’re “on page” optimization is correct. Do you have a number of inbound links? If the answer is that both of these are ok then check the following. Does you website have satisfactory results for the proper keywords, and does your website appear in any of the SERPS related to this key words? If the answer is no, then you are most probably sandboxed.

The most substantial information is supplied to the users of the various search engines. It is the complex algorithms that are put together by the SEO to indicate how relevant the information found in the content is. This is for the purpose of search terms.

Whenever SEO is discussed it is hard to get away from the fact that back links rule. Who links to you, anchor text and the page the link is coming from all help to establish your link profile and ultimately where your site ranks in Google.

However when it comes to building an authority site there is another important aspect, an aspect that is an essential part of search engine optimisation and will definitely help increase your keyword rankings.

Outgoing links are a huge part of SEO and will help build trust for your pages, but why? Give me a minute of your time to explain.

Firstly lets think about how the web works, it was built to drive traffic to relevant resources and information, do this and add value to your site as well as building trust with your visitors. You have to remember that no matter how good you think you are you cannot provide all the information a potential user may need, the web was created to give people an avenue to the best info in every area.

Not only is this a great way of flowing traffic to quality resources but it is als a great way of engaging the linkerati, those around the web that are more likely to throw links around, let me explain.

As well as adding value to your visitors it will also raise your profile in your niche, if you are passing traffic to another site the webmaster will no doubt pick up on this and could even link back to your information, easy really link out for links in.

OK let’s get down to business, can linking out really increase your rankings? Take a look at wikipedia, they have millions of outgoing links, do they suffer? The fact is Google will reward a solid resource, around a month ago most SEO blogs were shouting about this and even provided examples. Send a link to quality sites using the keyword you are targeting the page for, then watch your rankings rise.

Think about it for a second, not only are you an expert in your area but you can also give your visitors recommended reading and resources, do you really think Google would punish this? How many times have you heard Matt Cutts say "create a great resource"? Come on guys, what are you waiting for?

backlinks clinic

Hmmmm, this is a immersive concept and I need to emphasise it’s not clear cut. But here is what I know in my research at the Backlinks clinic:

Authority – basics

The more authority your site has the better you will rank on Google. Authority means that searchers trust you and your content. The great news is that authorities trusted by people are also trusted by Google. A great example is the .edu and .gov suffixes. These suffixes imply they are credible sources of information and it’s a proven fact that as far as Google is concerned backlinks from these domains to your site will contribute authority to your web pages. Another perfect example is Wikipedia as the web pages here are largely added by by group of humans as opposed to a single marketer.

So it follows that authority is largely influenced by the source of your backlinks and if authoritative web pages link to your site then you inherit their authority and as far as Google is concerned you become more authoritative and so the trust in your content by Google goes up.

How Google determines what is and isn’t authoritative is confidential for solid reasons and aligns with Google’s thinking of “Do no evil”. The last thing the Internet needs is an individual or a group manipulating the methods that Google uses in its efforts to try and regulate probably the most significant technological resource of this period in history.

Backlinking methods you should avoid

In the same vein it’s worth my while stating some underhand sources and practices of creating backlinks that Google not only dislikes but appears to be moving aggressively to ‘’categorize as illegitimate authorities. In no particular order of severity, the common offenders are:

Paid backlinks – web sites where individuals purchase and sell backlinks

Comment spam – entries that contain links on blog pages that are just not associated to the main theme.

Low quality and *duplicate content – ‘scraped’ or copied

Fast growth – there are a myriad of ways that this is achievable, Google isn’t stupid. Any sudden rise in the amount of backlinks is going to show up on Google’s monitoring systems, specifically if it’s a brand new domain.

Backlinks from bad reputation sites – these are particularly henous as you are guilty by association – need I say more.

*There is another factor where I may be on dodgy ground, but large news properties appear to get a lot of authority and I have definitely seen significant numbers of the same article over and over again on different portals with no penalties, I am still looking at this, only as some of the results I am seeing go against the normal behaviors I usually expect to see. More on this is in a future post….

A good illustration is the .edu and .gov suffixes. These suffixes imply they are trustworthy sources of content and it’s an established fact that as far as Google is concerned backlinks from these web addresses to your web pages will contribute authority to your web pages. Another perfect example is Wikipedia as the contents here are mostly added by by tribes of people as opposed to a single marketer.

So it follows that authority is very heavily influenced by the source of your backlinks and if authoritative web pages link to your web pages then you receive their apparent trust and as far as Google is concerned you become more authoritative and so the trust in your site by Google goes up.

How Google pronounces what is and isn’t authoritative is kept secret for good reason and falls in line with Google’s philosophy of “Do no evil”. The last thing the Internet needs is an individual or a group manipulating the methods that Google untilzes in its efforts to try and regulate probably the most significant technological development of this period in history.

How not to get Authority and Backlinks

In the same vein it’s worth my while stating some distasteful sources and methods of acquiring backlinks that Google not only dislikes but appears to be moving aggressively to ‘’categorize as negative authorities. In no particular order of merit, the prime offenders are:

Paid backlinks – places where individuals purchase and sell backlinks

Comment spam – entries that have links on blog pages that are just not associated to the main content.

Low quality and *duplicate content – ‘scraped’ or otherwise

Rapid backlink growth – there are a large selection of ways that this is achievable, Google isn’t dumb. Any sudden rise in the amount of backlinks is going to register on Google’s monitoring systems, especially if it’s a recently registered domain.

Backlinks from bad reputation web pages – these are particularly destructive as you are guilty by association – need I say more.

*There is another factor where I may be on shakey ground, but key media properties seem to get a lot of authority and I have definitely seen significant quantities of the same article over and over again on different web sites with no penalties, I am still looking at this, only as a portion of of the results I am seeing defy the normal behaviors I normally expect to see. More on this is in a future article….

backlinks

Hmmmm, this is a immersive concept and I need to emphasise it’s not an exact science. But here is what I have learned in my analysis at the Backlinks clinic:

Authority – basics

The more authority your web pages have the better you will rank on Google. Authority means that people trust you and your content. The great news is that authorities trusted by humans are also trusted by Google. A good illustration is the .edu and .gov suffixes. These domains imply they are credible sources of information and it’s a proven fact that as far as Google is concerned backlinks from these web addresses to your web pages will “pass on” authority to your site. Another perfect example is Wikipedia as the contents here are largely added by by group of humans as opposed to a single person.

So it follows that authority is significantly influenced by the source of your backlinks and if authoritative content link to your web pages then you inherit their influence and as far as Google is concerned you become more authoritative and so the trust in your content by Google increases.

How Google declares what is and isn’t authoritative is confidential for solid reasons and falls in line with Google’s philosophy of “Do no evil”. The last thing the Internet needs is an individual or a group manipulating the mechanisms that Google employs in its efforts to try and regulate probably the most important technological development of this period in history.

How not to get Backlinks

And on this thought it’s valuable to state some underhand sources and practices of acquiring backlinks that Google not only disapproves of but appears to be moving aggressively to ‘’categorize as illegitimate authorities. In no particular order of merit, the common examples are:

Paid backlinks – places where individuals buy and sell backlinks

Comment spam – entries that have links on blog pages that are just not associated to the main content.

Low quality and *duplicate content – ‘scraped’ or copied

Unnatural growth – there are plenty of ways that this is achievable, Google isn’t dumb. Any sudden increase in the number of backlinks is going to show up on Google’s monitoring systems, especially if it’s a brand new domain.

Backlinks from ill reputed web pages – these are particularly henous as you are guilty by association – need I say more.

*There is another factor where I may be on shakey ground, but reputable press properties seem to get a lot of authority and I have definitely observed significant numbers of the same article over and over again on different web sites with no penalties, I am still looking at this, only as a percentage of the results I am seeing go against the consistent behaviors I normally expect to see. More on this is in a future post….

The sudden increase of SEO companies available nowadays makes it difficult to find out which are good and which are ineffective for your business. There are much false and misleading information floating on the Internet as well as exaggerated claims, hoaxes and fraudulent cases. This would definitely make one wary of entrusting one’s business with just any run-on-the-mill company. If you are looking for a UK SEO company, it is best if you follow these simple rules of thumb in hiring SEO companies.

1.You should be able to choose which of the variety of SEO packages offered by the SEO company would fit your business. There are several packages for small and big businesses, as well as individual website owners and bloggers seeking SEO services.

2.The SEO company should offer website analysis as one of their services. This includes addressing Page Ranking concerns. You should be presented with a clear picture of how the company intends to increase your search engine ranking.

3.Keyword research and optimisation should also be part of the services given to you. Each page of your website should be optimized individually since it is uncertain which of your web pages will have greater impact on search engine results. While your website’s landing page is still the most important part of your website, you should not overlook each of your website’s pages as they still contribute to your website’s overall ranking.

4.The UK SEO company you choose should offer quality customer service. You definitely would want timely and efficient answers to your questions. You should also consider the availability of the company for you to be able to reach them anytime you encounter a problem or need to ask a question. They also need to have alternative methods for you to contacting them.

5.The SEO company should be able to deliver on time. As with any business, you would want the UK SEO company you hired to be professional and offer you a specific timeline to each detail of the project.

6.Opt for SEO companies that offer competitive pricing. Conducting comparison-shopping beforehand can save your business a lot of money.

7.Make use of testimonials and referrals. Conduct a background check on the SEO company and make sure they have a good standing and reputation in the industry.

8.Most UK SEO Company would provide a detailed proposal if they are serious about collaborating with your business. The proposal contains line-by-line item pricing, description and timeframe for each phase of the project. Having a detailed proposal also ensures that you and the SEO company are clear about what to expect from the undertaking.

9.The SEO company should also provide regular and detailed updates on the progress of the project. You should always be kept informed and up to date on everything happening to your website.

Article by John Black

Search Engine Optimisation or SEO as it is known by, is an essential ingredient for any website to succeed. However it can be extremely mystifying for website owners particularly for those new to the whole concept of promoting online . There are often 3 reactions the whole idea of SEO ;

1. Some feel that it’s a waste of your time and that only the act of putting a domain online is sufficient.

2. Some feel that they can just do it all themselves and that there’s not much to it.

3. Many feel that it is certainly something that should be delegated to a professional and that their valuable time is better used doing things for their businesses that they excel at.

All 3 perspectives have merit, for some companies just having a website is sufficient. The type of business that this would work for is one that’s unlikely to have people hunting for their services on the web. As an example a private Chiropractic practice in a fairly tiny town.

In barely bigger cities, depending on the quantity of competing companies have websites online, it may be possible to get good results by doing a touch of promotion yourself.

For the majority , however , getting it to work fine actually does need the services of a professional Search Engine Optimization consultant.
Search engine optimisation is a field that’s consistently changing and the systems and techniques that have to be used to get good search engine visibility are also an ever changing phenomenon.

the great thing about using SEO services to get your website to rank highly in the search engines is that it is advertising that not only is working for you 24 hours a day, seven days each week. It’s a way of bringing in buyers that are actively looking for what you are offering.

Consider the traditional kinds of advertising – newspapers, magazines, TV, local papers or radio. They are all a kind of shotgun approach, sending your marketing far and wide in the hope that your future clients happen to be reading, watching or listening to them at precisely the right time.

While with search engine promoting it is simply possible with good SEO services and a well set up site, to put your offering directly in front of the people that have purposely looked for your service or product by typing it into a search engine.

Another great thing about using search engine optimisation to boost your business, is that it is measurable. Unlike more normal forms of advertising, it is wholly possible to track what quantity of folks come to your site. Not only that you can tell where in the world they come from, which keyword phrase they once found you, which search engine they came via and how many came via each of the keywords.

With more standard advertising not only is it a shotgun approach, usually it is not measurable and usually the costs involved are unusually high.

For cutting edge SEO services at a fraction of the cost of other Search Engine Optimization services visit www.linxhurricane.com today

Search engine optimisation is the skillset of producing a website that has high organic serps listings . Many Businesses have started to employ search engine optimization specialists to work on their website to increase the exposure of their business online. Affiliate Classroom 2.0 bonus

Below I will teach you the basic SEO tips , that will hep improve your website rankings

There are various elements which can be optimise on the page, one of them being the page title The page title is very important in SEO and is one of the main factors in helping your web page rank . The page title needs to portray what is present on the actual page in terms of content and should be targetted at the main keywords that recieve the most traffic.

You may have heard the content is king and I have to say that I agree with this statement. There have been a number of ways suggested to optimise content such as latent semantic indexing. The greate number of pages of content you can get that is interconnected to your websites issue the higher your ranking will be. Google and other search engines like big websites.

Finding good incoming backlinks that point back to your site are an essential SEO technique. The category of backlinks that you are trying to find that will point at your pages are considered as a authority links.Authority links are considered highly by the search engines and due to that they are rewarded with favourable placement on the search engines and advanced listings of sub categories featured on your website. links from one authority website may be have more power then a huge number of links from obsecure webpages. The larger amount of powerfull quality links you acquire, mostly the higher you will be placed in the search results.

The seo information have to researched if you wish to be successfully in the challenge to obtain good search engines rankings. Affiliate Classroom 2.0 review
