What is the best way to increase your online sales? How can I promote my website for free? What are the benefits of article marketing? Does article marketing work? These are questions that I am asked on a regular basis and are questions that I will be answering in this article.

I am a businessman from the UK who has various websites to promote the services that I provide. I am involved in providing online guitar lessons for beginners as well as with a company that offer a DVD duplication service. As like I am sure the majority of webmasters out there, I wanted to attract as many people as I could to visit and read the content of the websites. At the outset due to my lack of knowledge of the best ways of promoting a website I enlisted the help of people who referred themselves as SEO experts. As it turned out neither were they, despite their claims of being an SEO expert.

After some particularly bad experiences with these so called experts of the SEO industry and after wasting a great deal of money I decided to attempt to educate myself on the art of web promotion. This was about seven years ago and one of the first things I was to learn was about the power of article marketing. I started to write articles and was astonished with the results, I was gaining additional traffic that were coming directly from the articles and the websites were also obtaining higher search engine rankings.

Article marketing has stood the test of time and is still as beneficial today as it was seven years ago. Article marketing is a free form of web promotion which is a major benefit to the small businessman!

I aim to write an average of one article per day and have managed to do this for the last two and a half years, the results speak for themselves.

How To Generate Multiple Streams Of Income

Achieve Top Search Engine Rankings

One thing I’ve learnt from my online exploits is that it’s easier to make money from several sites rather than one.

Most people set up a web site and expect it to make them rich.  Well unless you’ve got a product no one else has or you’ve got a huge marketing budget, it’s unlikely to make you rich very quickly.

Firstly, from my experience it’s a lot easier to attract 100 visitors to 10 sites than 1000 visitors to one site.  It’s easier to achieve top search engine rankings for lots of reasonably searched on phrases than for one very highly searched on term.

Also by publishing several sites you’ll quickly see for sure which ones generate the most traffic and income, so that you can then put more resource into the more lucrative niches rather than potentially persevering with niches that will never make you rich.

Also if you choose small niches to target your sites at, you’ve a lot more potential visitors and customers to sell to if you add the potential traffic from 10 niches together rather than one.  This is why targeting a small niche marketing strategy is my recommended choice for making money online.

Another advantage of multiple sites is that you’ve got access to a lot more affiliate opportunities.  Each niche you enter will have more affiliate schemes for you to trial and exploit.

Using a systematic approach is essential to your success.  Some sites and niches will outperform others, the secret is to keep putting effort and resources into feeding the high performing sites with targeted visitors, and then replicate.

Several sites will take you to your goals quicker than relying on one site.  Several sites also make you less vulnerable to competitors, for example, if you rely on one site, a competitor with more resources could steal your market and leave you with nothing.

search engine rankings

When a webmaster gets their site completed and hosted, the next task at hand is getting traffic and most webmasters try to get listings with Google and the other search engines as one main strategy. One of the ways that they use to begin building up some search engine rank is by utilizing the free search engine submission sites.

First of all, it is important to distinguish between search engine optimization and search engine submission. Often, people will use these terms almost interchangeably, but they are distinct and different approaches to gaining better placement in search engine rankings.

Free search engine submission is the process of getting you site indexed with the search engines, and is sometimes also referred to as search engine registration.

However, getting indexed, or listed, with a search engine is not the same as getting a high ranking for a particular search engine term, or keyword, that relates to the theme of your site. But, it does mean that the search engines at least know that your website exists, and that is the first step in the right direction.

The next step after taking care of your free search engine submission, is to tackle search engine optimization, which is also referred to simply as SEO. Of course, you can pay for search engine submission if you feel the need to, but really, for this step in the process, the free submissions services should be more than sufficient to get the attention of the top search engines.

Search engine optimization is the process of manipulating the content of your web site pages so that they can earn a high rank for the particular keywords that you are targeting. Two of the primary criteria that the search engines look for when analyzing a page to determine how it will be shown in the results listings are linking, both inbound and outbound, and the quality and pertinence of the content to the targeted keywords.

You will also see terms such as search engine positioning, search engine placement, and search engine ranking used quite often in relation to website promotional activities, and all the these terms essentially mean the same thing: how well a site is doing as far as the ranking position for the desired keyword term or phrase. For most webmasters, their primary goal is to optimize their site so that it will be shown in the top ten listings for their target search term, putting them on the first page in most top search engines.

You will also frequently hear terms such as search engine promotion and search engine placement, and these refer to the general process of site marketing with includes activities such as site submission, page optimization, and paid listing management.

Free search engine submission should be considered just the bare http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jq4rUcmALhYminimum steps for webmasters to take so that the site can start drawing in visitors, converting them to customers and bringing in some revenue for all their trouble.
