Being in this industry as a self-employed website marketer enables one to choose the amount of hours they work and to choose when they work. There is no set routine as in your average nine to five occupation and as such one can avoid having to drive in those miserable and frustrating rush hours. I for one would choose to work late at night as this is when I could concentrate the most and when I could get enough peace. As such my main working day would commence at around 10.30pm and would continue until at least 2.30am. I thoroughly enjoy working in this way and in this profession, it suits me.

My day would start at about half past seven when I would awake, clean my teeth and go to the toilet. I would however then return to bed until around eleven o’clock to gain a few more hours valuable sleep.

It may seem rather sad but I would have a quick read of my e-mails before eating a bowl of cerial for my breakfast. It would then be a short stroll to the shops to purchase a newspaper before returning home.

After spending an hour on the phone to update various clients on their current search engine rankings I would then take a drive to the golf club.

At six o’clock I would cook my evening meal prior to watching some evening television.

10.30pm – time to start promoting the websites.

I am now a fully fledged member of the parenting club and life is rather more hectic these days – but I have to say is even better than before, if that is possible.

I am now involved in various projects including offering people stuttering therapy courses as well as providing company’s with cost reduction specialists; something which is much sought after in a recession.

Life as a person who offers a web promotion service was, at the time, a very enjoyable one and I would certainly recommend other people to enter into this profession.

One of the best ways of gaining additional traffic is to build up the number of backward links you have pointing to your website. The best form of link is a one-way link, where a website adds a link to your site but does not get one back from you. There are a number of ways of obtaining these type of links including:

Writing articles. Writing articles like this one has many benefits. Other webmasters may add the article to their blog or website and this creates you a one-way link. Making comments on other peoples blogs. This last option is the one that I like the least as it can be very much seen as spam. Other people however do think it can prove to beneficial. I must say that I stay away from anything that could be seen as spam.

If you are struggling to find content you could use other peoples articles to help you. It is a good idea to have each of the sites in the network on a different server. This however can be very expensive and therefore for a smaller business may not be best advice.

There are a number of ways in which you can fund the project such as adding adsense to the site as well as affiliate links. This may not bring in huge amounts of money but could go some way to helping with hosting and domain renewal costs – this is something that a good friend once did with his composite doors and DVD replication websites.

Just think for a moment about how much this site network could be in a couple of years time if you have managed to promote them in the correct way.
