What’s pay-per-click

What is PPC?  PPC (otherwise called pay per click) is a type of online promoting.  Although many of us assume that pay per click and Google adwords are one thing, the actuality is that pay per click advertising can be done very effectively on the many other search engines as well.

How does one begin with PPC?

It is generally endorsed that anyone that is only starting with pay-per-click advertising begin on Google.  This is due to that Google is still by a long way the leader in terms of getting traffic.  If you start on Google and become successful there, you may start to move on to the other search engines.

Your initial step is to sign up with a google account.  You will enter in all the usual info, decide what nations you want to target, the daily budget that you want to use and how you want to pay.  Google charges $5.00 to register with them which is inexpensive compared to many of the other search engines.

When trying to see what is PPC, you also have to understand how it works.

With pay-per-click, you will make a 3 line announcement.  In order to do so effectively, you will need to target a keyword or keyword phrase that has relevancy to your business.  Keywords and key phrases are the terms that folks are typing in to Google or the other search engines when they are searching for information.

Then, if you have a plumbing business, you will need to target any keywords that have relevancy to that.  Fortunately , Google and all of the search engines have this information open to you.  They have tools that may show you what words people are tying in and how frequently they’re typing them in.

Select these keywords and target them in your announcement.  Your ad will include a two line text and one line that displays your site.  Next you may bid on the keyword(s) that you have centered for each ad.  Now, when anyone types in ‘plumbing’ or whatever other relevant word you have focused in your ad, your ad will appear on the right hand side of the page.

How high up your ad appears on the page relies on how high your bid was.  When a person clicks on your advertisement, you’ll pay the search site the amount of your bid.  You can change your bid at any time and there are other tools offered by the search sites that allow you to see how much other people are bidding so you can strategize appropriately.

When you’re first starting out, you should target the less competitive words so that you don’t spend too much on your bids.  As you begin to earn more cash, you can continuously target the more competitive keywords.

Hopefully this has answered your question about what’s pay-per-click.  Pay per click advertising is a highly satisfactory way to advertise because, in contrast to other types of advertising, you only pay after you have received qualified and measurable results.
